COURSE OUTCOME - Compulsory English

 

Semester – I

  4. Grammar and vocabulary building through exercises based on articles, prepositions, synonyms and antonyms.
  5. Conversational skills which includes making introduction, greeting people, talking about family, describing people, places, animals, expressing feelings, inviting, suggesting, accepting and refusing.

 

Semester – II

 

  1. Enhancement of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
  2. Comprehension of study content.
  3. Reading and recitation of poetry.
  4. Grammar and vocabulary building through exercises based on transformation of sentences.
  5. Conversation skills which includes asking for and giving information, giving direction, making requests, making offers, getting and giving permission, talking about past events.

 

Semester – III

 

  1. Enhancement of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
  2. Comprehension of study content.
  3. Reading and recitation of poetry.
  4. Grammar learning through exercises based on punctuation and narration.
  5. Formal and informal letter writing.
  6. Note-taking exercises for summarizing.
  7. Conversation skills which includes meeting people, exchanging greetings and taking leave, giving personal information, inviting people, accepting and refusing an invitation.

 

Semester – IV

 

  1. Enhancement of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
  2. Comprehension of study content.
  3. Reading and recitation of poetry.
  4. Grammar learning through exercises based on tenses and voice.
  5. Reading and comprehension of passages.
  6. Conversation skills which includes apologizing and responding to an apology, congratulating and responding to congratulations, summarizing news article, writing journalistic report.
